We all know that small bodies need food and exercise to grow. Cross Roads provides opportunities for both. Each day, weather permitting, the children spend some time outside running, jumping, and enjoying our spacious playgrounds.
When it comes time to refuel, the staff nutritionist provides a morning snack for everyone. The teachers and students snack on foods such as fresh fruit, quesadillas, Chex mix and sometimes even milk and cookies. The monthly snack menu is posted in each classroom and here on the website for your information. A special snack is provided for children with food allergies.
Children extending their day until 1:00 p.m. will bring a lunch with them to school. The teachers and students eat together in their classroom. Classroom teachers will provide each parent with specific guidelines to packing your child’s lunch. Cross Roads is a peanut-free school. Click here to see our peanut policy.
The school is proud to offer its own Preschool version of P.E. called A.C.T.I.V.E. ‘Coach’ facilitates many activities from obstacle courses and soccer to learning to skip and hop on one leg. This is a specific part of the school day that focuses on large motor skills. A.C.T.I.V.E. is usually outdoors and tennis shoes are recommended for those days.
