  9. What is your teaching philosophy? I believe that children learn best through play. They are naturally curious about the world around them, and I strive to create a classroom environment that nurtures and supports that innate desire to learn. Playtime is both structured and open-ended encouraging students to become fully engaged in their learning. Classroom activities are varied to include process art, crafts, dramatic play, language and literacy, math and science exploration, fine and gross motor development, and movement and music. I encourage frequent student choice and tailor my instruction to match my students’ interests, preferences, and learning styles. As a whole, my approach is very child-centered with my students at the heart of all that I do.
  10. What do you love most about teaching at Cross Roads? There is a warm, friendly, close-knit community here at Cross Roads like nothing I’ve seen on any other campus. Teachers inspire and encourage other teachers. Parents welcome and support other parents. Teachers and parents work together to provide incredible learning opportunities and experiences for the children. It’s truly an amazing place to be!
